Privacy Policy
Gusto (“we”) is a restaurant discovery and personal-ranking app built on the taste of people you trust. We take your privacy seriously: we do not sell your data and we run no advertising trackers.
Data we process
- Account: an identifier (derived from Sign in with Apple, or an anonymous identity), your email address (if you sign in with Apple), display name, username, city/neighborhood preferences, a short bio, and your profile photo (if you upload one).
- Your content: restaurants and visits you log, your duels and personal ranking, lists, comments, reactions, and reports you submit — each with its visibility setting (private / friends / public).
- Social graph: your friendships and the curators you follow.
- Messages: the messages you send in 1:1 and group chats with your friends (text and restaurants you share). Messages are shown only to the conversation’s participants; they never appear in the feed or on share cards. You can only message people you are friends with. When you delete your account, the messages you sent are permanently deleted too.
- Approximate location (optional): only if you grant permission and only while searching nearby; we do not continuously track your location.
How we use it
We use your data to provide the service: to build your personal ranking, power the feed and discovery, and run your social graph. We do not sell your data.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored on Supabase (a Postgres database plus object storage), protected by row-level security (RLS) so your private logs are never shown to others.
Third parties
We use no ad networks, trackers, or analytics vendors.
- Supabase — hosting infrastructure.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, and map/place search (MapKit), used only to find a venue’s real location.
Your rights (GDPR / KVKK)
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability (export), and objection. You can delete your account in-app (Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account), which permanently removes your profile, all your content, your avatar, and your identity record. Retention
We keep your data until you delete your account; after deletion it is permanently removed.
Children
Gusto is not directed to users under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will surface material changes in-app.
